On November 17th, 2014, Deputies responded to what was first a report of a battery on a juvenile in South Rapides Parish. Upon arrival, Deputies interviewed the complainant and was told a battery was committed on a juvenile male in the home. The suspect was identified as Kenneth Beniot, 54 of Lecompte, LA. Through further investigation, it was learned some inappropriate behavior was alleged to have occurred on a female juvenile in the home. RPSO Detectives responded and began their investigation. With the assistance of the Children’s Advocacy Center, the juveniles were interviewed and Detectives were able to establish enough probable cause to obtain warrants for Benoit’s arrest. Detectives located Benoit and placed him under arrest for 7 counts Aggravated Incest, 5 counts Aggravated Rape, 2 counts Forcible Rape, 1 count Intimidation of a Witness, 1 count 2nd Degree Cruelty to a Juvenile, 1 count Obstruction of Justice and 1 count of Domestic Battery. Benoit was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center where he is being held on a 1.4 million dollar bond. Detectives say the investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected.
