On November 17th Jeremy Grey Merrill age 33 of 14TH Avenue turned himself in at the Wood County Sheriff Office on active Capias. He was processed at the Holding Center and taken before Magistrate for arraignment and released on $500.00 bond. On November 17th Deputies responded to Man of War Road in reference to a warrant service. While attempting to make contact with the subject, a Deputy observed the man trying to get out of the back of the home through a basement door that was secured from the outside, using a knife. Deputy yelled at the individual to come to the front door, heard running then noticed the individual exiting the upstairs door on the back of the home. Deputy was unable to see if the person had the knife and was ordered to stop, refused and Deputy deployed taser at which time the subject fell to the ground and was taken into custody. Timothy Michael Morton age 25 of Man of War Road was then medically cleared at the hospital and confined to the Holding Center pending a court date with Judge Waters. On November 17th Deputy responded to I-77 in reference to a vehicle crash. Vehicle #1was towing vehicle #2 when it pulled onto the bridge and the vehicle began to slide and fishtail on the ice covered surface. The vehicle struck the concrete barriers on both sides of lane and the trailer struck the rear of the truck. On November 17th Deputy responded to Williams Highway in reference to multiple vehicle accidents. Apparently three vehicles were involved where the first vehicle had slammed on the brakes and was struck by the second vehicle and then second vehicle was struck by vehicle three. Two vehicles were towed and one vehicle was able to be driven away. A separate accident had occurred prior to the three car accident where a Ford Ranger had been traveling northbound on Williams Highway lost control of the vehicle going off the left side of the roadway striking several trees. Upon Deputies arrival the driver was being treated by EMS and First Responders. The Wood County Crash Team was called out and the driver was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital. On November 17th Deputy responded to Deerwalk Highway in reference to a single vehicle accident with injury where vehicle had hit a telephone pole. Crash report completed. On November 17th Deputy responded to Deerwalk Highway in reference to a vehicle crash, the driver advised that she was traveling North on Deerwalk Highway when she observed that traffic was stopped when she attempted to stop her vehicle she struck a metal trash bin on the right side of the roadway. The vehicle was towed and crash report completed. On November 17th Deputy responded to Emerson Avenue near the I-77 exits on the bridge to a two vehicle accident. Both drivers stated they were not injured, just damage to the vehicles. Michael Buck driver of the Jeep advised that he was traveling south on Emerson Avenue when he tried to stop the bridge was icy and the jeep kept sliding. Sebrina Sims driver of the Toyota stated that she had just pulled onto Emerson Avenue when the jeep hit the ice and was unable to stopand struck her vehicle. Both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene. On November 17th Deputy responded to RT 50 regarding a single vehicle rollover crash. The driver Tammy Poole of Hickory Heights Mineral Wells advised that her vehicle began to slide on the icy roadway where it exited the roadway to the right and struck the hill side, rock wall. The vehicle then rolled onto its top and came to rest on the driver side facing westbound. The driver advised that she wasn’t injured. Vehicle was towed from the scene. On November Deputy responded to I-77 @ Ohio River Bridge in reference to a vehicle crash. Vehicle #2 driven by Daniel Campbell was northbound on I-77 approaching the I-77 Bridge into Ohio when he saw a previous accident blocking the bridge and began to slow down. At this time vehicle #1 a semi- tractor driven by Roger Ihlenfeldt entered the bridge and was unable to stop and struck the rear of vehicle #2 shoving it causing the vehicle to bounce off the concrete barrier. Vehicle #3 driven by Bradley Crouser was behind Vehicle #1 and struck the rear of Vehicle #1 and bounced off the concrete barrier and struck Vehicle #4 driven by Bill Bond. On November 17th Deputy responded to Emerson Avenue near the exit ramp northbound I-77 and observed a jeep sitting against the concrete barrier between the on and off ramps from I-77 northbound. The driver Everett Ankrom advised that he was heading north on RT 2 heading towards St Marys when he came across the bridge over I-77 and the back end came loose causing the jeep slide across the road and stopping by the concrete barrier. Deputy observed the driver side door to be damaged due to hitting a street sign and the left front rim to have a damage. Vehicle was towed from the scene. On November 17th Deputy responded to Whispering Pines Road in reference to a Larceny that had already occurred. The complainant Sharon Corbin advised that between August 4th and September 12th she had a construction company remodeling her residence and a short time after the company was done working on the residence she noticed items missing. She advised that several items of jewelry were missing along with some loose change. At this time investigation is ongoing.
