On November 8, 2014 I finally realized a dream I had chased since 1968. For me it was a thrilling experience to win a championship riding a motorcycle. I first started riding at age 14 in 1960. I have spent more than 54 years in the motorcycling industry. I have been a mechanic (still am), a racer, a rider, a teacher (for 22 years), a service manager, and a shop owner. Through all the ups and downs I have enjoyed every year, but this year was very special. This year I got to introduce motocross racing to Conner, Riley, and Nathan. This year has been a learning experience for all of them and myself also. Watching them progress from April till November has certainly been an experience I will never forget. With all the ups and downs of family racing, forgotten gear, crashes, broken bikes and disappointments, there have also been great moments of victory. Racing has and will be a part of my life until...well I dont know when, but it will be there till then. I would be remiss to not also thank the owners, crew and staff of I-40 Motocross track. Their commitment to having a family oriented facility is second to none. From the Holeshot Café, proper trophies, track prep, race organization, even Ronnies grandiose announcing, to clean restrooms, they are on top of the game. I thank all of you for your weekly efforts. Leslie and Chris Corum are a class act that deserve a deafening round of applause. Thanks guys, you are appreciated! 2015 will be another period of growth for our family and all the other families that go to I-40 on a weekly basis. Till we meet again in April, I want to wish a Happy Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas and a Glorious New Year to all the familiar strangers I see every Saturday night.
