On Oct 1, I had a car accident. I switched lanes and the vehicle - TopicsExpress

On Oct 1, I had a car accident. I switched lanes and the vehicle in front of me stopped and I bent their bumper. I received a ticket for inattentive driving. Today was my court date, since I had decided to fight the ticket. It was an actual court, lawyers, judge, etc. Acting as my own lawyer, I argued that the young man who claimed to be driving had exited from the passenger side and the other kid was driving. Also, his 03 pickup had spray tint on the tail lights, making them impossible to see. What did I learn today? The court could care less about who was driving. And I was told that even if the tail lights were blacked out or broken, I still ran into a stopped vehicle. The court did not care why he was stopped in the middle of a busy road. But, on a good note, the ticket was $127 and the judge lowered it to $50!!!! Oh, but then I had to pay $112 in court costs. But, its not a moving violation, so thats good. Next time I am calling my cousin Bonnie Richardson or my friend Kurt May to represent me. It was fun saying no your honor, the defense rests. But then he said pay your fine.
