On October 17, the third anniversary of the canonization of St. André Bessette, we screened God’s Doorkeeper, the documentary made on his life by Salt + Light Media. The documentary features the work of Holy Cross at Saint André Bessette Catholic Church in Portland. On their own initiative, the parishioners who watched the video decided to take up a collection to support the work of that parish in building communion with people surviving urban poverty in downtown Portland. $655 was collected thanks to their generosity. We are thankful for what grateful hearts spurred by love can do. Wed call that saintly!
