On October 1st 1942 Norman Cecil Rehmel was born.He grew up to be a dynamite of a man that could do anything he set his mind to do.He was a farmer,bulldozer operator,mechanic,logger,welder...great family man who was faithful to his wife while raising 4 kids.He was very athletic,and could throw the baseball extremely hard with either hand...in basketball he could bomb 3 pointers with ease but,he never played much in school because he worked all the time.He retired from working hard at Peabody Hawthorn Mine.I remember he onced worked 8 1/2 months straight without a day off..most of those were double shifts.He still somehow always found time to be with us kids....I started out writing this song with Rodney Clidienst,and Brett Mullins jumped in to help finish this song about the man I called my Hero.This song is called Coal Miners Son.Happy Birthday in Heaven Dad !!!! :)
