On October 1st, 2014, deputies responded to the 8700 block of Ridgemont Drive in Pineville in reference to a possible burglary. Upon arrival, contact was made with the complainant who advised that at approximately 9 am that morning, an orange Dodge pickup truck was observed parked at the residence across the street. The complainant stated the person who lives there did not appear to be home. The complainant used a cell phone to take pictures of the suspect vehicle and then called RPSO to report the suspicious activity. When deputies arrived, the suspect vehicle was gone but the complainant had pictures the Detectives could work with. Deputies located damage to the residence in question and the homeowner arrived to see if anything had been taken. The homeowner discovered their laptop and some medication missing from the residence. Detectives responded to the scene to begin their investigation and with the pictures provided, they were able to identify a suspect and locate the vehicle in Colfax, LA. With the assistance of Grant Parish Sheriff’s Detectives, the suspect was identified as Timothy Terrell Jewell, Jr. of Colfax. Jewell was located and taken into custody without incident. Most of the stolen items were recovered and returned to the victim. Jewell was later released from the Rapides Parish Detention Center after posting a $3500.00 bond. “Because of this alert citizen taking these pictures, this burglary was solved quickly and will hopefully aid in the conviction of this suspect ” said Sheriff William Earl Hilton. “We appreciate this type of assistance from the public. If you see something, say something; you never know what it may solve.” Arrestee: Timothy Terrell Jewell, Jr., 43 602 East Street, Colfax, LA Charge: Simple Burglary
