On October 2, 2006, a man went into an Amish schoolhouse, and shot ten girls, killing five of them. Afterwards, he shot himself. That same day, even before they were done grieving, members of that Amish community went to visit the family of the gunman. What they did, however, was incredible. They went to visit his family, to comfort them and express forgiveness to him. Some reports even say that one of them held the gunmans father in their arms for about an hour. They also told his widow and family that they would do whatever they could to help them out. About thirty members of the Amish community even attended the gunmans funeral.
