On October 30, 2014, Candidates Marc Dodd, Tod Howard, Stephanie Luke, and Nancy Muenzmay were emailed invitations to complete the candidate survey for the parenting blog called Lake County Safe Schools Initiative. The candidates were asked to answer questions about student transportation, a district recess policy, and standardized tests required by the district. They were then given open ended questions about their experience and asked to list their priorities for the school district. Then, they were given an opportunity to make a statement to the voters. Unfortunately, no candidates from District 5 (Stephanie Luke or Nancy Muenzmay) responded to our questionnaire. Both candidates from District 3 did respond, so it gives you the opportunity to compare their answers. In all the editorials we have done, and everything we have witnessed, we find no reason to question the integrity or validity of the responses from any of the candidates, and we hope that this can assist you in choosing the candidate that you would support in the election.
