On October 9th, I will be traveling with a team of ten from Trinity Harbor Church to India. And I need your help! Trinity Harbor partners with Childrens Relief International and we will spend ten days teaching and ministering among the Untouchables in Kolkata and Rajahmundry. I need to raise a total of $3,500 to be able to bring the gospel to the poorest of the poor in one of the darkest parts of the world, and I am asking for you to join me. In Kolkata, I will be going to the Kalighat Temple red-light district to minister to the women and children in the slums. The Kalighat Temple is devoted to Kali, the Goddess of Destruction, and performs more live animal sacrifices than any other place in the world and is surrounded by an extensive brothel system. We will be teaching these women about Jesus in Bible studies and providing Bible school for their children. Many of the young girls enter the brothel system as young as fourteen just to survive. Our team will focus on developing a system to rescue the children out of the slums and brothels by providing them tuition for boarding school to give them a new life. In Rajahmundry, we will be visiting the jungles know as the Deep Forest. This is where the Untouchables have fled the cities to escape cultural persecution, yet over the last decade a church planting movement has begun and the gospel is spreading.The churches of the Deep Forest face incredible persecution and many converts are kicked out of their families and villages. Our team will minister to the churches of the Deep Forest through teaching and providing Bibles and resources. We also will be providing Bible training to the children living at the Rajah Childrens Home. These abandoned and orphaned children are rescued from the Deep Forest and given and education, food, clothing, and taught about Jesus. Over the past few years, God has truly transformed my perspective on life. I have experienced his grace and love and feel compelled to share what hes done in my life with others. Romans 10:14 has truly challenged me: And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? I can be that someone preaching and this opportunity to go to India reminded me of Gods call for his people to love the oppressed, orphaned, and those deemed unworthy in their culture.
