On Rising From the Ashes and Finding Grace When you see the ashes on anothers face, and have accepted them onto your own, all eloquent deliberations over the nature of right and wrong, guilt and innocence, life and death, are ended with visible force. In their place, there is a humble recognition that we are all equally guilty and equally mortal, and that we are all equally ashamed and terrified about these things. We are saved or condemned together, so we must choose love over legality, grace over the exercise of our rights, and mercy over judgment. Jonathan Roberts This friend speaks my mind.
