On Saturday April 26, 2014 the Medina County OVI Task Force and the Ohio State Highway Patrol conducted a sobriety checkpoint and saturation patrol in the City of Wadsworth focusing on SR 94 and surrounding roadways. Police officers from Wadsworth, Brunswick, Hinckley, Montville, Seville and Medina Township, as well as the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Medina County Sheriff participated in the operation. The checkpoint was the fourth one conducted by the Medina County OVI Task Force for this grant year which began on October 1, 2013. The checkpoint was conducted in the 700 block of High Street (SR 94) south of I-76. The checkpoint went for 3 hours and we checked 420 cars. There were 21 cars diverted for further investigation which resulted in one driver being cited for No Operators License. The saturation patrols resulted in 3 arrests for OVI resulting in tests of .301, .196 and one refusal. There were 41 traffic stops made resulting in two misdemeanor arrests for possession of Drug Paraphernalia and citations for Speed and Red Light.
