On Saturday, Sept. 13th, we at Outlaw Mag had the distinct privilege and honor to attend a benefit concert in northeast Texas supporting an outfit called Hope for the Warriors. Look em up. Theres a full review in the works that will post this week - about not only the music, which was exceptional, but about the organization involved. And some of the people we met who simply astounded us. Our writer on the scene almost begged off due to lower back pain, but hed given his word to the man who runs the show and so he went. Once there, he spent time talking to his friend Jackson Taylor - who made the drive from Kansas to honor his commitment to headline the show even though he had a completely broken left hand. Made our writer feel like a sissy for thinking about maybe begging off. Then Frank Prigmore, who owns the ranch the show is held at, wound up hosting the entire event with what he believed were broken ribs sustained earlier in the day when his Appaloosa mare tossed him to the dirt. And then... there was this guy weve linked to below. Who rode his motorcycle in from Tennessee for the show. It was our distinct privilege and honor to be a part of the third annual benefit show at Clancys Saloon and Stage. We cant wait to fill yall in on the details. In the meantime, go look up Heath Calhoun. What a day. What a humbling experience to be in the presence of those who represent the very best among us - who exemplify what the American spirit was and still remains. heathcalhoun/
