On Saturday Sept, 6th I was able to spend time with family and my Grandpa Douglas up north at the family cabin taking out the dock for the year. A phrase that my Grandpa said to me that day as we were standing there was You are just like me, arent you Jer, always looking for something to do and then grinned. I couldnt have asked for a greater man to be compared too. Little did I know that those would be some of the last words he ever said to me. He passed away the next morning. I am so grateful and blessed to have spent one of his last days with him. The last words he said to me were his famous Love you Honey as I hugged him good bye on Saturday. After reflecting, for some reason I think he knew it was time and he was at peace with it. He was a great man and will be missed.
