On Saturday and Sunday, November 8th and 9th, the volunteers of GVFD participated in the Annual Christmas Bazaar at the St. Hugh of Grenoble Church. Members staffed a fire prevention table, handing out junior fire hats and fire safety activity books to the children attending the Bazaar. On Sunday, the children received a special treat, as GVFD brought Santa Claus and the Friendly Firefighter to visit and take pictures with young and old alike. The children were able to see a firefighter dressed in full bunker gear up close and personal, helping them to realize what looks and sounds like a scary monster is actually a friend, who is there to help them.
