On Saturday night I ran the Starlight 1/2 Marathon in Palm Coast Florida. I ran it with my brother Jeff...well, kinda, lol. He finished before me, but its all good! Had fun running around in Christmas lights. And as someone mentioned before about this race, it was dark, I mean dark dark, lol. Ive ran night races before, but nothing like this. You were required to wear a light or carry a flashlight. While I was running, you realize why it was required, you couldnt see even your hand in front of your face. And since I was third from last (yep, Im that fast, lol) I didnt have anyone around me. There was no one in front of me, and the last two people werent anywhere behind me. So it was definitely creepy at times running in complete darkness, not seeing any signs of the world. There were times I really tried to pick up speed cause I was afraid the boogey man was going to jump out from nowhere, lol. Yep, it did play tricks on you. But it was still fun. The cool part was at the end when they blew the snow machine (I think it was foam) at you, that was really cool! And for it to be a small race, the medal was so much bigger than expected, love it!
