On Saturday we had a total of 35 intraining runners take part in parkrun in various locations around SE Qld and a further 2 runners competing in parkrun events in the UK . Down the coast at Kirra, a young Kye Wylde smashed his PB and entered the sub 17 zone with a 16.55. Well done Kye and would like to see him line up with fellow club member Ralf Hamann. Ralf led the field home again at Mitchelton and with the effects of his brilliant Sydney marathon now abating, Ralf posted a PB of 17.03. Also at Mitchelton was intraining coach Gary Andrews who managed to peel 32 seconds off his previous best time! Speaking of intraining coaches, it was great to see Sarah Mathers name pop up in the results list for Mitchelton, judging by the time I suspect Sarah may have had a baby stroller leading her home. Good to see Sarah back in action! We had 16 runners at New Farm and they were led home by young gun on the rise Daniel Manning who went under 19 minutes for the first time (and definitely not the last) with a time of 18:57. Younger sister Zoe also on the rise, knocking over 2 ½ minutes off her previous best parkrun time. Naomi Daly also posted her best parkrun time, probably because she has started listening to her coach :) Big shout to Rhondda Whetton whom completed her 50th New Farm parkrun and was only 3seconds off celebrating with a PB!! At Southbank parkrun, Brad Jewell continued to bring his time down with another PB at 19.12. Out on the Wynnum foreshores Kate Switala must be in good form and on the 23rd of her steadily improving Wynnum runs, managed a PB by 2 seconds! Congrats also to Tina Fiegel on smashing your 5k PB at Wynnum. Intraining have now moved into 2nd position on parkruns “largest participating club” list.See the list at parkrun.au/results/largestclubs/
