On Sept. 9th the Eden Prairie Police Department will be holding a city-wide Neighborhood Watch training from 7:00-8:30 PM in the Heritage Rooms of Eden Prairie City Center, 8080 Mitchell Road. This is a make-up session for residents who were unable to attend their neighborhood watch training session and for residents who are seeking additional information/certification to start their own program. To register for this free event, click here. Neighborhood Watch is a cooperative effort between the police and individual neighborhoods that focuses on reducing crime. Residents involved in Neighborhood Watch receive training from the Police Department on how to prevent, detect and respond to suspicious behavior in their neighborhood. As a member of Neighborhood Watch, you are alerting criminals that your neighborhood is organized and on the alert for criminal behavior. Residents in Neighborhood Watch groups may also qualify for home insurance discounts. More information can be obtained by visiting the Eden Prairie Police Department website or by calling 952-949-6200.
