On September 11, 2001 the future lead singer Gerard Way was working as an intern for Cartoon Network when he witnessed the attacks. He would later quit his job, write his first song that dealt with his emotional experience and assemble My Chemical Romance afterwards. On July 23, 2002 the band released their first debut with the album I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love. Starting with Vampires Will Never Hurt You - which was released two months earlier on May 27 - they remained an underground label until Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge two years later; two more studio albums and 18 more singles would follow until their split in 2013. Though each of the former band members are pursuing projects of their own their memories of being in the band would carry on for generations to come. Just as MCR looked up to Queen for their musical influence some day in the future some post-hardcore rock band will look up to MCR for their inspiration and take their own brand of music up to the next level. Will it sound the same as it was back 10 years ago or will it sound very, very different? Only time will tell. Meanwhile one listening to this song can dream about vampires and horror movies while watching its official video taking place in a dark room. Not bad for an indie music video for a bands first single, right? https://youtube/watch?v=Z1FHpCs8tD4
