On September 16, 2013, Aaron Alexis, an IT contractor for the US Navy shot and killed 12 people and wounded several others at the Washington Navy Yard. Alexis was a Badwolf. He used a sawed off shotgun. I have made my opinions known about what lead to this and other incidents of Badwolf IT people. For years, in this Facebook thing, I have encouraged business owners to give extra expense and scrutiny to looking over the shoulder of IT people. Many years ago, I warned Human Resources folks in Oklahoma City, in a pamphlet I made available to them, that they should keep an eye on their IT people. I even offered my services as a (then) computer forensics expert to evalutate their computers and report my findings. NOONE has EVER asked me to watch their IT people. If Hewlett-Packard had hired me to look of the shoulder of Alexis, perhaps I could have discovered his true nature and they could have fired him. I am one of those IT people who does not trust other IT people. I swore a blood oathe before my God to keep my customers secrets. I swore a blood oathe to always be on the level and do the right thing. Sometimes it is difficult for confused people to know what is the right thing. Shooting up your customers is not the right thing. I am certain that if other good men had been around him, that he would not have been a threat, because he would not have been in a position of trust...
