On Sunday 6th October, in game # 16 of the Fast Cash, Ayoub Morancie & Ronald Charles Trafalgar Basketball league, the Ronald Charles Bullets defeated the Domlec Shockerz by the final score of 73pts – 63pts. The Shockerz, coming off a 7pts loss earlier in the week, were looking to recover, and show their dominance, while the Bullets wanted to continue with the winning formula after a very hard fought victory over the team which handed the Shockerz their loss, the Lilly Valley Sharks. With quarter 1 kicking off bang on time; it would have seemed to be a long night for the Shockerz as they started off the game really slowly. Held to a lack luster 13pts by the Bullets in the opening period the Shockerz allowing their opponents to score 27pts. With the squad that the Shockerz possessed, surely, this was highly unacceptable. Midway through the 2nd quarter, the Bullets were on par, to put the game to bed very early. Though the points were being a bit hard to come by, they themselves stepped up their defense and prevented the Shockerz from getting any easy buckets. The offense had dropped for both teams. The Bullets racked up 13pts and the Shockerz a disappointing 10pts; three less than the opening period score of 13pts. At the half, the Bullets lead by a dominating 16pts, and had not trailed since the opening minutes, being down 6pts, to 4pts. The 3rd period was much more progressive for the Shockerz, and things looked promising for the 4th and final period. Ivan “Bakery” Jno. Baptiste, as well as solid center man, Joseph “Jo-Jo” Hypolite were not going to let this game get away, without putting up a reasonable fight. 8pts a piece, from both men, saw the Shockers rack up 18pts in the quarter, and with a team effort, limiting the Bullets to only 11pts. Certainly a much better account of themselves from the Shockerz. At the end of the 3rd quarter the Bullets were still in the lead, but it was cut down from 16pts, to 9pts. The final quarter commenced, and it was tense moments for the Bullets. The veterans such as Curtis Joseph, Larocque St. Jean and John Joseph all sat and looked on from the bench, and left the fight, for the younger and energetic guys, such as Bram Sanderson, Fitzgerald Daniel, Javeed Joseph, and Thomas Felix. It was end to end stuff on both ends of the court, for both teams. Defense was thrown out the window, while offense took charge. The lead had come to 6pts with about 4 minutes to go, but this was the best that the Shockerz could do. Thought their offense was clicking, that of the Bullets, was also on point effectively working. In the end, the Shockerz lost by 7pts. Back to back losses they are now 1-2. Final scores 70pts - 63pts in favor of the Bullets.
