On Sunday, April 27th 2014, at 2:00 PM, the Vancouver Avenue First Baptist Church is commemorating its 70th Diamond Home-Coming Celebration! It’s a celebratory occasion of great reunion that captures the authentic essence of the Message, the Music and the Memories of this historic spiritual fixture nestled in the greater North Portland area for seventy years. “Vancouver Avenue” as it’s profoundly known, has served as a spiritual and cultural epicenter that continues to promote the local awareness and appreciation of the African American and multi-cultural experiences through family and community driven programs and annual events that enhance the spiritual, social, civic and academic well-being of the Portland community.
