On Sunday, Carmalee left for Washington DC. After I dropped Carm off at the airport, I went to work. Josh decided he wanted to go to the skate park in OFallon with Trent. While at the skate park, Josh decided to attempt a new trick on his bike (540 spin) from a ramp. Not completing the full spin, caught the rear tire on the ramp, he was thrown off his bike, fell to the ground landing on his left hand and broke all of his fingers on his left hand. By the way, this is the second time he has broken the pinky. I received a frantic phone call from Josh while I was working in Washington Park. Josh told me what happen and I left to pick him up. While on my way to pick Josh up, I received a phone call from Carm saying she was in DC and was getting her bags. I then told her, I was on my way to pick Josh up to take him to the hospital. Carm being freaked out wanted to come home Sunday. I attempted to calm her down while trying to stay calm. I picked Josh up and we went to St. Josephs Hospital in Breeze to the ER. After being X-rayed and a bit of pain, the doctor entered the room and talked to Josh and I. The doctor looked at Josh, who was texting, and said see how smashed your phone screen is? Well, your phone looks better than your hand. The doctor then said all we can do is wrap it up and then you need to go to the orthopedic surgeon as soon as possible. Today Josh and I went to Barn Hospital to see the orthopedic surgeon and or fears were realized. This break is a lot worse than the last one and it is a twist break from the fall. Tomorrow morning we go back to Barns Hospital to check in for surgery . He is going to be receiving several pins in every finger to help straighten them. Please pray tonight and tomorrow for an easy surgery and a speedy recovery. By the way, Carm lands at 6:10 PM tonight.
