On Sunday, July 27, 10 AM, Kevin Brien will lead a discussion entitled, “Confucianism” for the Unitarian Universalists of the Chester River, 914 Gateway Dr., Chestertown. This talk will focus on the thought of Mencius (372 - 289 BCE), the second most important Confucian after Confucius himself. We will begin with a focus on his famous stance that “human nature is good,” and will try to make clear what Mencius means when he says this, and why he says this.
