On Sunday, Muslims will be celebrating Yawn-un-Nabi. My non-Muslims friends are asking me about Yawn-un-Nabi. Yawn-un-Nabi is the celebration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). There has always been a controversy about the celebration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Some people claim that it is Bidah (innovation) in Islam. Well, I see nothing wrong in the celebration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as long as there is no exaggeration for Allah has forbid exaggeration.. We can celebrate Yawn-un-nabi in a decent way like we should involve in the invocation of Allah, reading Naat, explaining the sunnah of our beloved Prophet (pbuh) and doing Zikr. However, as far as I know, Yawn-un-nabi remains as Biryani event now. They attend the gathering just for the sake of having Biryani which is wrong. Muslims are also involved in doing Rally all over the country which I assume to be wrong because we cannot make noise all around when Islam is a religion of peace. Lastly, I would like to affirm that Yawn-un-nabi should be celebrated but in a decent and moderate way for it brings unity in the society. It is also a form of social gathering for people of the Muslim community for they are united for the celebration of the birth of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) regardless of wealth, colour and creed. Youngsters are the one who are mostly involve in this celebration and sometimes, these youngsters are the one who do not pray or are even involve in Haraam activities as they do not have time to learn about their own religion. They tend to spend their time on Facebook or other activities but by attending Yawn-un-nabi, the event might act as an inspiration for those youngsters to pray, to learn about Islam, and come closer to the path of Islam. #Yawn_un_Nabi #Two_days_to_go
