On Sunday night the people really turned out to hear The Beack - TopicsExpress

On Sunday night the people really turned out to hear The Beack Boys at the Wayne County Fair in Wooster, Ohio. The fair stopped selling tickets somewhere around 5,000 and the crowd filled the Grandstand to capacity and stretched out on both sides. Its always fun to see all ages turn out and entire families enjoying the show together. There was a beautiful response to my calling out the invitation to the crowd to join us in a cell- phone participation in the song we dedicate to all the ladies in the audience...Surfer Girl . The beautiful photo of all the cell phones lighting up the night was taken by Tim Bonhomme who doesnt play his keyboards on that song and was able to capture a pretty spectacular picture. After the show we cruised up to Cleveland. Early the next morning we flew to Salt Lake City where we played on the Monday night . The Beach Boys have had a long and special relationship with Salt Lake City and the rest of Utah as well. We even did a song of that name as a result of the good times we have enjoyed in SLC. Cousin Brian and I not only came up with FunFunFun on the way to the airport in Salt Lake City, we actually recorded a song extolling the virtues of Utah... Its got the sun in the summer and wintertime the skiin is great!... Last night there was a young girl in attendance with her family who shared a story with us that I thought was so cute. They shared a photo of what this eight year old girl got in trouble for...Keira Larson wrote The Beach Boys in wet cement along with her hand print! Keira was having such a great time at the show that we asked her to come back afterwards for photos and autographs. She and her sister, who was a bit oler than she, her mom, and baby sister in her stroller, all said hi. Its pretty amazing that a young person of 8 years of age loves The Beach Boys music so much. I guess that sort of says it all when asked why we still do all the performances we do. There are people all accross the world from 8 to 80 that love The Beach Boys, and that kind of appreciation makes it all worthwhile. Fifty Years of FunFunFun...kinda miraculous if you think about it! Peace and Love, Mike Love
