But, here ya go! 1692 Quaker statesman William Penn (1644–1718) was deposed as governor of Pennsylvania by the throne of England. 1790 Andrew Henkel, Lutheran pastor in Ohio and son of Paul Henkel, was born (d. 23 April 1870). 1873 Traugott Martin Wangerin, missionary to the deaf in Milwaukee, was born (d. 9 September 1951). 1892 James L. Kelso, American Presbyterian archeologist, was born in Duluth, Minnesota (d. 1963). Whenever a professional archaeologist turns to a careful, detailed study of the gospels, only one thing dominates all his thinking. This is Jesus Christ himself. The personality of the Christ is unique and alone in all of human history.
