On Thursday 22 May a conference will be held in Cape Town to promote and assess the progress Cape Town has made in becoming a cycling city, and what still needs to be done; this will be followed on Sunday 25 May with the inaugural Freedom Ride Cape Town, from Pollsmoor Prison to the Parade, to commemorate Madiba and to demonstrate the power of the bicycle in alleviating social, economic and environmental poverty and in linking communities. Everyone is welcome, please diarise both dates; in fact, your involvement in the two events is critical! More information on both events will follow shortly.
