On Thursday, I gave you a picture of the murderous me when I played Brandon, in Rope. That was in 1966. The following year (67,) I portrayed Albert, the Social Worker, in A Thousand Clowns. Talk about going from one extreme to the other. For this, I received a Best Supporting Actor Nomination. I did not win. I didnt expect that I would, after having won in both categories the year before. I loved doing this part. I love getting as far away from myself as I can. Plus, I really love character work. Ive never felt comfortable playing the romantic lead For your comparison, heres the murdering Brandon at the left, and the other two pictures are Albert in Clowns. What do you think?
