On Thursday, June 13, 2013 a Retro Ford Thunderbird Car Club will be coming to Cripple Creek, Colorado. Members of the internet group “ThunderbirdNest” are driving approximately 50 Retro Thunderbirds to Cripple Creek, and will be adopting the Old Homestead House as their fundraiser effort for the car show. The “Save Our Brothel” extravaganza will include a parade, a car show, and a Charity Adoption Ceremony. The schedule of events for this group are as follows: 10:00 a.m.: Thunderbirds arrive at the Cripple Creek Heritage Center. 10:30 a.m.: Thunderbirds will caravan to the Old Homestead House, and the Charity Adoption Ceremony will follow. 11:00 a.m.: Thunderbird “parade” down Bennett Avenue. 11:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.: Car Show along the 100 and 200 block of East Bennett Avenue. 2:30 p.m.: Thunderbirds will depart for Victor, Colorado. Please note: the car show will not be closing access to Bennett Avenue. The Thunderbirds will be parallel parked along the 100 and 200 block of Bennett, and shuttles will be routed to 2nd Street and 3rd Street for the duration of the show. Parking will be reserved for the car club starting at 6 a.m. to ensure vehicles are removed from the area prior to the club arriving.
