On Thursday, October 16, as part of National Feral Cat Day (NFCD), IDA’s Northwest Regional Office delivered 21 cats to the Feral Cat Coalition of Oregons spay/neuter clinic in Portland, Oregon. IDA staffer Eric Phelps, with volunteers Courtney Argo and Carma Crimins from Animal Rescue & Care Fund, Inc., started this trap-neuter-return (TNR) project to coincide with NFCD. 21 cats from two separate locations in a small neighborhood in Clackamas County, Oregon were helped in this project. This year’s National Feral Cat Day (nationalferalcatday.org/) was reportedly the largest ever with events held throughout the United States and around the world. IDA was proud to contribute to this overall effort and thrilled to play a role in helping these individual cats live healthier lives.
