On Thursday night, I was privileged to see an outstanding production The Legend of King OMalley at the Seymour Centre. It was the most energetic piece of theatre I have ever seen. The actors near killed themselves... and it was brilliant. The production design and the direction were superb. The story centres around King OMalley (an actual person), member of the Australian parliament early last century. Amongst other things, he took the letter u from the name of the Labor party, chose the site for the location of Canberra, and a dozen other things more interesting than this. Theres some comedy, theres some drama, theres some surrealism, theres some music, and theres just a little WTF. Overall, its bloody good theatre. As a writer, I would *kill* to see one of my plays performed by a group this talented. Go and see it. Its playing until the 13th of December seymourcentre/events/event/the-legend-of-king-omalley/
