On Thursday, the Township Committee will be holding a public hearing on two very important issues. One is a bond ordinance authorizing borrowing of $287,000 to purchase a new tanker. Although the fire department does need the new piece of equipment, it will be interesting to see if the Committee explains how it intends to repay the bond. With our budget already stretched thin, it looks like new taxes will be the only way to pay for this. The second issue is another revision to a recently revised zoning ordinance. Is it the habit of the Committee to re-write an ordinance every few months? And just how much did we pay the township attorney for these two revisions?
