On Thursday we read a book called The Man Who Walked Between the Two Towers. It was a story about Phillipe Petit who, in 1974, snuck up to the top of the World Trade Center buildings and illegally installed a high wire that he would walk across....some 1,350 feet above the ground! The book ends with the towers no longer standing. I told the students about a park in Hilliard where they could see pieces of the World Trade Center Buildings. If you ever get a chance to visit First Responders Park, I highly recommend it. Its a rather humbling experience and the kids can actually touch a piece of history.
