On Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at approximately 9:30 p.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence located on Paw Paw Way, Cumberland, MD in reference to a breaking and entering complaint. A witness contacted police advising that three females entered the residence, removed items and placed them in a vehicle. Upon the officers arrival to the area the vehicle was located in the middle of Paw Paw Way. The vehicle was occupied by three females. Contact was made with all three subjects; Catherine Ferguson, Michelle Porter, and Tracy Phillips. Officers investigated the complaint and found that the three entered the residence and stole household items. Numerous stolen items were located inside the vehicle. This residence is vacant however the home is still full of household and personal items. Contact was made with the victim who was advised of the situation and it was determined that all three subjects did not have permission to enter this residence. Ferguson, Porter, and Phillips were all placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters for processing. Arrested: Michelle Lynn Porter – age 31 – Cumberland, MD – Held on $5000.00 at the Allegany County Detention Center. Tracy Lynn Phillips – age 49 – Cumberland, MD – Released on her personal recognizance by a District Court Commissioner, Catherine Mary Ferguson – age 52 – Cumberland, MD – Held on $3000.00 at the Allegany County Detention Center. Charges: All three were charged with the following; 1. Third degree burglary. 2. Fourth degree burglary. 3. Fourth degree burglary to commit theft. 4. Theft under $1,000.00
