On Tuesday, NewBridge CEO Robert L. Parker will appear in a half-hour special on NJTV about the impact of the Community Mental Health Act of 1963, President John F. Kennedy’s signature legislation that drastically altered the delivery of mental healthcare in the United States. Local leaders in Pequannock Township, New Jersey had by then laid the groundwork for a community mental health organization that opened its doors on Dec. 23, 1963 and would become NewBridge Services. “The Community Mental Health Act: 50 Years of Progress, will air Tuesday at 7 p.m. and be replayed throughout February: • Saturday, February 1 – NJTV at 12 p.m. • Saturday, February 1 – Thirteen at 12:30 p.m. • Sunday, February 2 – NJTV at 8:30 a.m. • Sunday, February 2 – NJTV at 11:30 a.m. • Tuesday, February 4 – NJTV at 5:30 a.m. • Tuesday, February 4 – WHYY at 5:30 p.m.
