On Tuesday, September 23rd, 2013 shortly before 7:30 AM, Rockford Police Patrol Officers responded to 3707 Blackstone Avenue in regards to a welfare check. Upon arrival to the scene, officers learned the 81 year old male resident had been the victim of a Home Invasion that occurred earlier in the morning. During the Home Invasion, the victim’s vehicle identified as a silver PT Cruiser was taken by the suspects. At the same time the officers were investigating the Home Invasion on Blackstone Avenue, officers located the silver PT Cruiser in the 1800 block of Counsil Crest Dr. The vehicle was occupied by Raven C. Richardson and Mokeece C. Townsend. Both were taken into custody without incident. Rockford Police Detectives conducted follow up investigation into the incident. The following charges were authorized: Raven C. Richardson, 18 years of age, Rockford, Illinois Home Invasion Auto Theft Mokeece C. Townsend, 17 years of age, Dolton, Illinois Home Invasion Auto Theft The charges against Richardson and Townsend are merely accusations. They are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
