On Tuesday, the City of New York Police Department released details of a vicious dog call which took place on Monday on the Grand Central Parkway near the Long Island Expressway exit in Queens, New York. The authorities had been alerted to a potentially vicious dog wandering on the parkway - when two officers from the 110 Precinct responded, they found a motionless pit bull mix sitting in the middle lane. Officer Morinia-Blocker utilized her patrol car to help keep Officer Mezzoiuso safe as he approached the dog on foot. In short order, Officer Mezzoiuso was able to determine that the dog was not vicious, but he was scared and hurt. Officer Mezzoiuso bundled the injured dog into his arms and removed him from the busy roadway. The wounded dog was transported to the ASPCA in Queens where staff decided that he should be moved to the ASPCA animal hospital in Manhattan. The NYPD wrote: Officers Mezzoiuso and Morinia-Blocker visited the dog today to check up on him where despite suffering a broken leg, ASPCA staff expect him to make a full recovery. examiner/article/new-york-police-department-s-beautiful-response-to-a-vicious-dog-call
