On Tuesday this week the county council planning members voted on - TopicsExpress

On Tuesday this week the county council planning members voted on whether or not to allow 57 houses to be built on the old Little Thorpe Hospital site. Apparently one member abstained from voting, leaving the vote hung with an equal number of members voting for and against. This meant the chairman of the panel had the casting vote. Although I wasnt there, he apparently gleefully announced he was voting for. The history of the site as a former maternity hospital suggests that there are undoubtedly still born babies buried there and there has already been a fair bit of publicity about it. I also think this could be the pre-cursor to see what appetite there is for people to buy on the site before they railroad the full application for 900 houses through county hall in yet another rubber stamping exercise.
