On Wednesday I attended the vigil for Shaker Aamer and came across a people from belief system know as Falun Gong demonstrating at Parliament Square. I learnt Falun Gong is a practice of slow moving meditation exercises belonging to a Chinese tradition to improve health, vitality and harmony between mind and body. It has a spiritual philosophy based on three principles: Truthfulness, Kindness and Tolerance. I was shocked to learn that Tens of thousand of Falun Gong practitioners may have been killed for their organs. The regime in China for no apparent reason other than paranoia, sees Falun Gong as an ideological threat to its existence and has since July 1999 made every effort to eliminate this very large group. It was brought to my attention that a government survey showed 100 million people were practicing Falun Gong- more than the Chinese Communist Party CCP membership - Party leaders felt that their power was threatened and banned the practice. Now you can understand why Muslims in China are persecuted. Could it be the most targeted for the simple reason that Muslims believe in Allah. We condemn the ban on fasting during the month of Ramadan in Xinjiang, the northwest province of China. Please call upon the Chinese government to immediately lift the unjust ban in which officials, civil servants, and students are forbidden to fast and visit mosques during the month to maintain “social stability” and prevent the promotion of religion. Please call upon China to immediately end forced organ harvesting from detained Falun Gong practitioners in China. Please call upon the Chinese government to immediately end the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners Under the format of executing prisoners, killing people to harvest their organs for transplantation is a crime against humanity and a breach of medical ethics. Organ transplantation is a highly profitable business in China. 95% of all organ transplants in China are derived from executed prisoners
