On Wednesday, November 19, 2014, the U.S Embassy hosted a conference on Women Entrepreneurship at the Pye Poudre Cultural Center. Two of the panelists, Charlotte Tanis and Altagracia Content who are Department of State alumni spoke about leadership, the challenges of being a woman entrepreneur and why women entrepreneurship should be encouraged. The third panelist, Duckensia F. Bourdier, shared her personal experience as a CEO and what it takes to achieve specific goals for her business. The audience consisted of students aged 14-18 years old. The question/answer session was interesting and lively. We really appreciated the participation of students from the Future Business Leaders of America – Haiti Chapter and Catts Pressoir. The U.S. Embassy looks forward to hosting similar informational exchange sessions in the future to engage the youth and provide them the tools that they need to succeed.
