On Wednesday, a 92-year-old in Port St. Lucie, Florida named Salvatore Mancuso lost control of his car, and drove into a lake. Luckily, a 21-year-old college student named Alton Brieske was across the street having lunch. Alton is a pre-med student at Florida Atlantic University, and hopes to be an Emergency Room doctor someday. And he immediately dove in and started swimming to the car. When he got to it, Salvatore was unconscious, and his door was locked. So Alton yelled for a hammer, and someone was able to bring him one. Then he used it to smash the drivers side window . . . unlocked the door . . . got Salvatores seatbelt off . . . and pulled him out just before the car went under. But once Salvatore was out of the water, Alton realized he wasnt breathing. So he started doing CPR . . . and it WORKED. Salvatore is still in intensive care, but hopefully hell pull through. Alton says hes just glad he was in the right place at the right time.
