On Wednesday evening at 7 pm, explore “When the Silk Road was the Center of the World and Why.” Dr. S. Frederick Starr, founding chairman of the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute and Silk Road Studies Program at Johns Hopkins University, will present this special lecture. His latest book, “Lost Enlightenment: Central Asias Golden Age from the Arab Conquest to Tamerlane,” chronicles the achievements in science and art in Central Asia between 800 and 1200, making it a perfect companion to the Museum’s Traveling the Silk Road: Ancient Pathway to the Modern World exhibit. Free with Museum admission, which is only $6 after 5 pm.
