On Wednesday night last week, Nik and I were at Frieda Margolis in West Lynn (Grey Lynn for the uninitiated), when our friend Doctor Smoochface appeared out of the darkness and began his nightshift of soliciting pats. He hung around for about an hour or two, pressing up against likely suspects and making himself flatter than seems felinely possible on the sidewalk. He even crossed the road, at the crossing, making *five* cars wait for him while he did so. He made an number of new friends, and I confess it was quite heartwarming to see peoples responses to him. ALSO! I got a facepush! (Which I think Ive said before is like an unprofessional headbutt.) I feel like getting a facepush from a Persian, especially an old gentleman like this, is very very special. Yes, it was quite a moist facepush. ;) (Apologies for the photo quality, the conditions were not amenable, and because he decided he really liked me, I asked Nik to take photos and hes not used to my camera.)
