On a beautiful Sunday morning we drove down to Eugene, OR to watch the #3 Washington Womens Volleyball team play the #11 Oregon team at the new arena that Phil Knight from Nike built for the school. We love watching these amazing athletes, especially Cassie Strickland (who is #8 in the white shirt). She graduated from Edison HS in Huntington Beach where my kids went to school. Her sister used to work for us at Quiznos and follows them around the league games taking pictures also. Washington had the player of the year in 2013 who is a senior this year,#16 in the pictures. The speed, power, quickness, enthusiasm, and team play is truly inspiring. There were lots of young girls with their mothers attending to see how the big girls can play. If you can, you owe it to yourself to watch this great spectator sport!
