On a brighter note, I really enjoyed the field trip with my son Lochlans TAG class to Blackfriars Playhouse in Staunton, Virginia yesterday. TAG is talented and gifted in Newport News so the kids were a lovely mix of nerdiness. We saw Shakespeares play As You Like It which is a lovely mature comedy. There were a total of almost 400 middle and high school kids attending from all over. We then got a tour of behind the scenes. We were on charter buses and the driver said it was the best group hed ever had. I had a many great conversations with one of the teachers about sci-fi, English television, and the career switcher path he took to being a middle school English teacher (he was an engineer).
