On a day like this, three years ago, while having lunch with Ximena Malyka , I informed her of this very STRONG & strange urge i had to speak to my mother. An hour later, i received a call from my big brother Hilary Wendo and this is how the conversation went (Phone rings) Me: In excitement hallo boss (i always call him boss) My big bro: Yes Michael, (silence) are you driving? Me: Yes i am-wassup? My big bro: its ok ill call you back when you are not driving. Me: No its ok-we can talk My big bro: ...... SILENCE Me: hallo My big bro: SILENCE (By this time i sensed something had gone really wrong) Me: just tell me what it is My big bro: (silence...) You get to where you are going ill talk to you later. Me: JUST TELL ME My big bro: ......................its mom (followed by a loooong pause of silence) its mathe (as we always called her) Not wanting to believe what i just heard... Me: Let me call you back coz am driving. I continue driving like nothing had happened. Two kms later, i ask ximena to help me with her phone to make a call. Scariest call ive ever made in my life. Thats when the voice on the other side said YES IT HAPPENED MIKE. Organize to come home. He never told me the word, but i understood what he said and he knew i understood what he meant. Days have turned into weeks, months and years. We miss you mom, but i know you are in heaven. With Jesus and with God at a better place, and you dont have to suffer from the pain in illness that you were suffering while you were here with us. I miss you. I miss my mother, you were my friend, my angel on earth, my everything. I miss your guidance, I miss that bad look you gave us when we did something cheeky, i miss those "boring" songs you loved listening to. I just wish you were here. I love you mom-and i always will. I wish you were still with us, but well... Your father in heaven had other plans for you. All i ask for, is your guidance and protection from heaven till we meet again.
