On a friend of mines page, it was suggested (quite rightly!) that the more people talk openly about their mental illness issues, the more people will feel okay about getting help for them. So if it helps anybody anywhere feel better about getting help -- I suffer from both chronic depression and crippling anxiety. The latter worst of all: I have severe hypochondria for which Im medicated. Hypochondria sounds like no big deal, but I go on weeks-long depressive fugues where Im convinced I have some disease or other (almost always cancer). I take medication which controls it with zero side effects, and Im happy I do. Its improved my quality of life (and my familys!) immeasurably. Meanwhile, Ive spent time in the hospital for the former, and its no fun, but Im also not ashamed of it. It happens! Its a disease just like any other. Sometimes you need more help, sometimes not. If any of you want to ask me about it, at any time, or talk to me about their own deals, they sure as hell can, at any time, no judgement at all. PM me!!
