On a lighter note: yesterday driving from DRC to the Uganda town of Arua to catch a flight, our bus driver ran over a chicken at a village. We had to stop, and a little inquiry was held. It was quickly finished after about 5 minutes, and the adjudication was that the driver would be fined $5 (USD). I mean, it was a small chick, thank goodness - it could have been worse.
