On a upbeat note just got the check from my agent that officially marks me earning more as an actor this year than on my Navy pension (my day job), and this makes 4 years in a row. Its a point of pride because lots of folks snicker when you say you are an actor, like its not a real job. Every day is a fight to stay trained and current (on your own dime), every day is a fight against the demons that make you second guess your choices and the friends and family who wonder when you will finally give up and settle for a more socially acceptable job. We have a double standard that way, stars are legit and non names are not, but there is a middle ground where you consistently work and earn, just not in that name recognizable category. 5 years ago I wondered if Id ever make more than $10k a year as an actor. This year has been amazing so far for so many reasons, Ill leave that for the De 31st post, meantime, If you run into my family and they ask you when you think Ill get a real job, tell them I already have one. PS, sorry to the MO idiots for posting something upbeat and taking the spotlight off of your buffoonery, you may have it back now.
